Abstract
This chapter is a case study of a University of Oxford spin-off founded in 1999 and acquired in 2003 by a leading provider of medical imaging equipment. With this example, we hope to illustrate some recurrent themes of starting up a technology business in Europe and to offer a series of lessons learned that could be useful for future entrepreneurs.
