Abstract

The ultimate goal is to find the radiant reflectance, transmittance, phase shift upon reflection and so on, of one or more thin layers - the multilayers whose performances are described in Chap. 1. There is an introductory section that computes the reflectance by an intuitive method. On the left (Fig. 2-1) is a summary of that section. A more rigorous derivation is provided in an appendix and further sections of this bookâas summarized in Fig. 2-2.
