Light is a very narrow portion of the total electromagnetic radiation range, termed the electromagnetic spectrum, which extends between x-rays (short wavelengths) and radio waves (long wavelengths). The visible spectrum, the so-called “optical” portion, which we perceive with our eyes, covers the wavelength region.
