Abstract
The aim of the study is to analyze historical village and present changes in architectural or historical elements Karavas village region. The main target that may be aimed at preserving the historical, architectural and cultural fabric of its area and policies appear as a result of analysis. Within this framework, Karavas village urban quarter pattern is analyzed by researching building storey, function, development period, building materials, roof type-materials, structural condition, architectural features, changes in façade or mass, elements of architectural features. Each building is digitized and field survey is completed then data is inputted in geographical information system environment. Additional satellite images and data obtained from local offices in order to control data within the study area. By analyzing changes, it is clear say that that some parts of Karavas village have been dramatically changed in terms of architectural features. Heights of the buildings area have been increased from 2 to 3 in the eastern and northern part. Detached, semi-detached 2 storey buildings are replaced by new apartments. These apartments also changed the character of the historical environment. Moreover, many traditional buildings have many different façade and mass changes, which is very common in Karavas Village. Results show that the buildings have a historical, monumental or architectural character that forms historical urban patter is in danger.
