Abstract
In recent years, photoacoustics has gained significant popularity in biomedical imaging applications. Since photoacoustic imaging (PAI) can provide detailed functional and morphological information of deep-tissue features with high spatial resolution, it holds great promise as a potential clinical diagnostic tool in multiple applications. However, clinical translation of PAI is not happening at an ideal pace because of slow, bulky, and expensive laser sources used for tissue illumination. To circumvent this problem and accelerate clinical translation of PAI, we developed AcousticX system in which laser sources are replaced by portable and affordable high-speed pulsed LED arrays, opening up huge possibilities in point-of-care dynamic functional imaging of tissue in a clinical setting. In this talk, we will introduce our proprietary LED-based multispectral PAI and ultrasound imaging system (AcousticX) and demonstrate its structural, functional, and molecular imaging capabilities using several preclinical and pilot clinical imaging examples. For any questions related to AcousticX and its capabilities, please free to contact us.
