Abstract
A commercial excimer laser angioplasty system with emphasis on small size, long lifetime, and operator convenience is discussed. Particular emphasis is given to the laser energy control system that allows calibrated fluences to be easily achieved. The system reported here, along with appropriate catheters, has been used to perform over 100 percutaneous coronary angioplastys.
