Abstract
In modern times, people usually use channel coding technology to ensure the effectiveness and reliability of information transmission. As a better coding method, convolutional coding is widely used in wireless communication standards such as GSM, cdma20000 and IS-95. This paper introduces the coding principle of convolutional code, uses Viterbi decoding, and verifies the performance of convolutional code through MATLAB simulation. Simulations have found that when the bitrate is 1/2, the performance of the convolutional encoding increases with the length of the constraint. And in the decoding phase, the soft judgment Viterbi algorithm due to the hard judgment.
