Abstract
The R2O-SiO2-B2O3 glass is an important material in the production of optical fiber panels. The effect of B2O3 content on the properties of R2O-SiO2-B2O3 glass such as the density, hardness, softening temperature, thermal expansion coefficient and resistivity are systematically studied. The results indicate that B2O3 content had influence on the density, hardness, softening temperature, thermal expansion coefficient and resistivity of the R2O-SiO2-B2O3 glass. With the increase of B2O3 content, the density, the hardness, the softening temperature, the resistivity of R2O-SiO2-B2O3 glass increase, thermal expansion coefficient of R2O-SiO2-B2O3 glass is decreased.
