Abstract
A repetitively pulsed e-beam controlled CO laser has been constructed. The laser system is a completely seled off unit with an active volume of 12 liters outlined to laser pulse energies up to 100 Joules. The electron beam source has been designed and built up to produce electron pulses of 120 key energy, current densities of about 100 mA/cm2 behind a window area of > 1000 cm2 and repetition rates up to 100 Hz. Principal design features and typical measurements of multimode operation are presented.
