Abstract
We discuss the application of thermorefiectance to two interesting physical systems: ferromagnetic CrBr3 and heavily doped silicon. This technique allows us to identify the physical mechanisms affecting the optical response below the transition phase of CrBr3 . In the case of heavily doped silicon we analyse the many-body effects of high doping on the E1 and E2 edges; the variation of some interesting related parameters is evaluated as a function of the dopant concentration (up to 6x 1021 cm3).
