Abstract
Numerical analysis of the heat propagation shows an important role of the adhesion of recording layer and plastic substrate of optical recording media. Poor adhesion leads to the delamination of recording layer and causes the irreversible deformation of substrate. This explains the irreversible decrease of read back signal by continuous laser beam.
