Abstract
Modulation and demodulation of optical signals are important links in laser communication links. Due to the influence of atmospheric turbulence, light intensity fluctuations, beam drift and other phenomena will occur during the optical transmission process, which increases the difficulty of demodulation and cannot meet the low bit error rate requirements in complex atmospheric environments. This paper studies the atmospheric attenuation effect and atmospheric turbulence effect, and analyzes the turbulence channel model. On the basis of studying the four machine learning algorithm models of Deep Belief Network (DBN), Support Vector Machine (SVM) and the basic principles of PPM modulation, the DBNSVM was designed. Demodulation algorithm, and improvements were made to DBN algorithm parameters based on PPM signal characteristics. Experimental results show that the DBN-SVM demodulation algorithm can significantly improve the demodulation performance of the communication system. For 4-PPM signals, when the signal-to-noise ratio is 14dB, the symbol error rate of DBN-SVM demodulation is lower than 10−6.
