Abstract
The research aims to explore how reducing triangular mesh affects the accuracy of CAD models generated through reverse geometric modeling. The experimental phase will involve implementing 9 different reductions of the triangular mesh from the STL model. Following each reduction, the model will undergo remodeling using fitting element techniques applied to the triangulated surface. The resulting CAD models will then be compared systematically with a reference model obtained through 3D scanning using the GOM ATOS II Triple Scan optical 3D scanner, featuring a measuring volume of MV 100. The main goal of this experiment is to understand how triangular mesh reduction impacts the dimensional accuracy of models created through reverse modeling. The experimental subject will be a cylindrical part with a precise diameter of 17.00 mm. The study aims to uncover the significant influence and relationship between triangular mesh reduction and the reverse geometric modeling process, and how this affects the accuracy of CAD models.
