Abstract
The subway holds a significant role within the urban public transportation network. Addressing the challenges of subway connectivity has become crucial for enhancing the commuting experience of citizens. This study, focusing on the main urban area of Guangzhou, employs GIS network analysis tools to evaluate the bus service coverage, identifying regions that lack subway accessibility and require bus transfers for commuters. Building on these findings, Guangzhou Higher Education Mega Center (HEMC) was selected as the specific area of study. The site selection and allocation model were utilized to optimize bus station configuration, while the best path model was applied to determine feasible route directions. Ultimately, the closest facility point model and OD cost matrix model were implemented to strategically place shared bicycle docking stations in areas characterized by high population density and significant transit likelihood, aiming to solve the "last kilometer" travel issue for city residents. The outcomes of this research could serve as a reference for the development of public transportation in Guangzhou.
