Abstract
For a given homogeneous optical syswn, potential axial gradient configurations are identified.. A sysrematic approach is propose.cl for localing the most useful axial gradient configuration that reduces the homogeneous syswn's Seidel aberrations. The design of a linear axial gradient Coote aiplet using the proposed method is discussed.
