Abstract
The aim of optical fluorescence diagnostics in medicine is to differentiate between normal and malignant tissue. Such diagnostic tools would be of great importance both for early detection of cancer, especially by use of laser and fibre technology inside the human body (Fig. 1), as well as for the discrimination of malignant and normal tissue by the surgeon.
