Abstract
It is a known fact that methods of dynamic spectroscopy are well adapted to give information on dynamic and geometric characteristics of microparticles in single-scattering conditions . However , the single scattering-conditions are met rather rarely, particularly in case of biological media. Therefore an interest arises to study multiple scattering effects which take place at large thicknesses of scattering layers18 as well as at high concentrations of particles, when it is also necessary to take into consideration their interaction.9 Resent theoretical works are concerned mainly with investigation of the shape of the autocorrelation functions of temporary intensity fluctuations from spherical non-absorbing particles as dependent on optical layer thickness, and on probing and detection conditions'8 in which the radiation transfer equation is solved in traditionally adopted approximations. Experimental works are largely restricted to research studies oflatex spherical non-absorbing submicron-sized (a< 1pm) particles.'6 Serious theoretical consideration of the absorption effect on autocorrelation functions of multiple scattered radiation has been made only in recent years.10'11 Up to present, with the exception of Ref. 12, a polarization structure of multiple- scattered radiation has not been considered, and it is quite understandable since the research studies have been restricted3'8 with spherical particles. An orthogonal component of linearly polarized radiation has been considered in experiments only in order to demonstrate a better manifestation of multiple-scattered radiation.
