Abstract
A high capacity, high data rate rewritable optical disk drive and controller for tactical applications has been designed. The 14-inch TODS system is capable to storing 12 gigabytes of user data at data rates up to 50 megabits-per-second on a double sided 14-inch magneto-optic rewritable optical disk.
