Abstract
Reconstruction of current distributions was performed by solving the magnetic inverse problem using the minimum norm techniques. It provides rough images of current distribution with some noise. Improvement of the resolution and removal of noise from the reconstructed images was done by using alternating projections. The procedure assumes that images can be represented by line-like elements and involves finding the line-like elements based on the initial image and projecting back onto the original solution space. Simulation studies were performed on a (lambda) shaped conductor and a shape of the conductors in the form of letters, UWBC. All conductors were of line-like thickness. In all cases the initial reconstruction produced a good representation of the conductors with some noise, and with larger width of conductor. Alternating projection technique was applied and in each case the original shape and the line-like thickness of the conductors was recovered.
