Abstract

There has been a number of significant advances in recent years in the conception and realization of new and novel guided-wave acoustooptic (AO) devices and related integration technologies in common waveguide substrates. In this paper, a selective review of the most recent advances in the realization of multi-channel integrated AO modules or circuits in LiNbO₃ and GaAs substrates with applications to communications, RF signal processing and computing is presented.
