Abstract
This paper presents an overview of the methods in nonlinear dynamics which are being applied to signal processing; and a new nonlinear coding method which is based on strange attractors. In particular, these nonlinear dynamic methods are being used for: noise reduction, discriminating signals from a noisy background - for example, when nonlinear media are involved, signal identification, classification, and prediction schemes, filtering out multipath propagation, speech modeling, as well as nonlinear codes, medical applications, and the monitoring and control of vibrations.
