Abstract
We report first operation of ps-pulse 10 µm-CO2-laser systems based on optical free induction decay (OFID) in far-infrared-laser gases, e.g. CH3F, D20, NH3, instead of the usual hot CO2- gas. This implies new phenomena. Main advantages are wavelength selectivity and compactness.
