26 July 1993Optimization of optical design of a single lens using a genetic algorithm
Preliminary results are presented when a genetic algorithm is applied to the lens design by computer. In our case the algorithm devised is used for the design of a single lens. Similar results were obtained to the classical solutions when third order aberrations are minimized.
