Abstract
In the past few years advances in the fabrication technology of diffraction optical elements have given rise to the development of a variety of interferometric devices for various applications. At present obtaining high-quality highly efficient hologram and ruled diffraction gratings as large as several hundred millimeters in size is no longer a problem. This enables us to design a twin-wave interferometer which is equivalent to the conventional four-mirror Mach-Zehnder interferometer with a working field of 300 - 400 mm, but our device is characterized by a significantly higher vibration-resistance capability and easy to adjust.
