Abstract
The paper presented here is an assessment of the performance of the linear mixture modeling. It has already been tested over a spatially complex area in Burkina-Faso (West Africa) to retrieve temporal profiles of reflectances of the different cover types of the land use. Using simulated coarse resolution data by the degradation of SPOT images gives the opportunity to check all the parameters of the model and to testify to its reliability and its sensitivity. The results show that linear mixture modeling enables the radiometric values to be estimated to an acceptable degree of accuracy. The robustness of the inversion of reflectances has been evaluated at different qualities of registration. It was also shown that the model is invariant with scale which is very important for its adaptivity.
