Abstract

A route to the synthesis of free base and metallo N-methylated chlorins based on trans- octaethylchlorin (t-OEC), octaethylbenzochlorin (OEBC) and ethyl etiopurpurin I (ET2) is presented. The ¹H NMR spectra and electronic spectra of these compounds are discussed.
