Abstract
In this paper, we report the properties of flashlamp-pumped Cr:LiSAF laser operating both in Q-switched and modelocked modes. Stable Q-switched pulse with energy of 85 mj and pulse duration of 50 ns (FWHM) is obtained. Reliable ps pulse train is observed by prelase A-O modelocking and the pulse duration is 80 ps (FWHM). Wavelength tuning is realized from 810 nm to 890 nm by a two-plate crystal quartz birefringent filter (BRF, d1:d2 equals 0.5:1).
