20 September 1996Fabrication of Bragg grating on Er3+-doped fiber
A technique for fabrication chirped Er3+-doped fiber gratings with etching method is reported. An analysis is presented for the behavior of the chirped gratings as a function of wavelength, the angle between the illuminating beams, as well as the position of the gratings. Experimentally, Er3+-doped fiber gratings with variable period have been etched on the D-shaped fiber. Results obtained are in good agreement with theoretical analysis.
