Abstract
The development of digital terrain databases relies on the synthesis of data from several diverse sources. At the Georgia Tech Research Institute, a methodology has been developed and employed over the past ten years to create high resolution (approximately 1 meter grid spacing) digital models of specific world locations. These models include geographic feature types and height information. This process depends on the merging of data from multiple sources including stereo aerial photography, panchromatic imagery, digital maps, and satellite data; these data are then processed through multispectral processing algorithms to create the digital representation.
