Abstract
Applications of the system proposed would be color inspection or color control. The inspection tasks or color control in the industry is carried out by human visual inspection comparing the sample to measure with a reference sample. The people in charge of visual inspection need a specific training and some experience to measure correctly. They need to have a rest often to avoid mistakes in the results. Our aim is to automate these inspection tasks using a color camera in order to assure the repetitiveness and to keep the equipment in working order. In this paper we evaluate if the system proposed is able to distinguish color samples, which are distinguishable by the human visual system. We measure 48 Munsell samples, 8 samples have different hue but equal luminance and chroma, and the rest correspond to modify a step in the luminance, hue and chroma respect to the above 8 samples.
