Abstract
We propose the use of synchronously moving micro-optics (lenslet arrays) for image pickup and display in 3D integral imaging to overcome the upper resolution limit imposed in the Nyquist sampling theorem. With the proposed technique, we show experimentally that the viewing resolution can be improved without reducing the 3D viewing aspect of the reconstructed image. In addition, both fields of view and view angle of the reconstructed image can be improved without decreasing the viewing resolution, if the non- stationary lenslet array technique is used. For this purpose, the use of low fill-factor lenslet arrays is discussed.
