Abstract
In a color thermo autochrome (TA) printer, thermal head is used on contact with thermo-sensitive paper for the purpose of recording a full-color image on it. Image is formed through respectively and sequentially recording three-color layers on the paper. In developing the color of each thermo-sensitive color layer, an amount of heating energy, which is called the bias heating energy, is required to initiate the coloring process. By adding an additional amount of heating energy, which is called the image heating energy, the color can be produced with desired density. However, colors of three layers are difficult to be adjusted to obtain good print quality since the heating energy accumulates. In what follows, methods to determine the heating energy of each color layer and to compensate the accumulated heating energy are proposed. From the experimental results, color quality of TA printing can be significantly improved accordingly.
