Abstract
The aim of this work is to demonstrate the potential of a novel method, based on optical spectroscopy, as a primary method for quantitative gas analysis. The interest of this technique stays in the possibility to realize sensors, even very compact, that guarantee also to the in-field measurements reliable values that is the metrological traceability, without the use of certified calibrated mixtures. This techniques is suitable for reactive gases and for gas in trace, where traditional methods fail. Gas mixtures concentration measurements have been done of SF6 in Nitrogen. The obtained results have been compared with certified mixtures values. The uncertainty budget shows a reproducibility of the measurements of 0,01in volume, and an accuracy depending on available spectroscopic data.
