12 May 2005Retrieval of turbulence profile from stellar scintillation: a simulation study
Several methods for the retrieval of atmospheric turbulence profile from stellar scintillation measurement are discussed concerning their advantages and shortcomings. Numerical simulations are perforemd aiming at an instrument design. From these simulation results, major parameters that have main influence on the inversion procedure are found, and thus optimal parameters are obtained for the instrument design.
