Abstract
In a photorefractive liquid crystal light valve with optical a feedback we show pattern formation and we use the properties of the optical structures to perform a measurement of the spatial resolution of the device. Then, we show experimentally and theoretically how the Talbot effect can be used to enhance the nonlinear response of two or more light valves in cascade.
