Abstract
Integral floating imaging is a 3D display method which is a combination of integral imaging and floating display. It is a promising technique of 3D display because it possesses full parallax, continuous viewpoints and can produce large feel of depth. In this paper, we explain the principle of the integral floating 3D display system and analyze its viewing characteristics, such as viewing angle, viewing window and the expressible depth range. We analyze these characteristics by using geometrical optics based on the analyses on the integral imaging. Experimental results which verify the analyses are provided.
