Abstract

The paper discusses the structure and the performance of the 10-100 mm f/1.8 Vario-Sonnar. This new Vario-Sonnar is a taking lens with continuous focus for the 16 mm format and combines high speed with compact design. The close range is marked down to 1.5 m, can however be set as low as 1 m (unmarked). A specific setting device permits macro mode with a reproduction ratio of 1:4. This device also enables the Vario-Sonnar to accept a wide-angle lens to change the initial focal length from 10 mm to 6 mm.
