Abstract
A method has been suggested for description of the azimuthally and radially polarized modes that excludes any inherent contradictions and unjustified approximations. The solutions are in accordance with Maxwell equation ∇E=0, and the wave equation. This allowed the analytical calculation of the field components for these modes, including the longitudinal one. The formulae of field distribution at sharp focusing are presented for the arbitrary-order IPM. Generation of high power (up to 2 kW) beams with axial-symmetric polarization (ASP) in stable resonator of industrial CO2-laser with diffraction gratings or V-axicon have been realized. The transformation of azimuthally polarized mode to radially polarized mode was demonstrated.
