Abstract
High quality mixed vanadate monocrystals Nd:Gd 0.7Y0.3 VO4 with dimensions up to Ø 25x70 mm and Nd ions concentration of 0.5% were grown. Diode pumped laser based on this crystal demonstrates lasing with output power up to 9.8 W at wavelength 1063.6 nm with slope and total efficiencies 66% and 64%, respectively. Thermooptical characteristics of this mixed vanadate crystal and Nd:GdVO4 crystal were directly measured and compared.
