29 January 2008High performance laser arrays for tunable and parallel link applications
The integration of multiple lasers with different characteristics on the same semiconductor chip allows for very high
performance tunable lasers as well as new low cost architectures for parallel data links. For applications in tunable
lasers, we describe our geometry of laser array with MEMS switch than can cover a 53nm tuning range with high
spectral purity. In parallel data links, the laser arrays are operated simultaneously and deliver multiple 10Gb/s channels.
