Abstract
In this paper, a partial inner wavelength method (PIWM) is proposed to enlarge buffering capacity of shared FDLbuffers. An optical packet switch called OPS-PIWM is proposed to realize the PIWM. In addition, two optical packet scheduling algorithms, i.e., greedy scheduling algorithm (GSA) and conservative scheduling algorithm (CSA) are proposed to improve the performances of OPS-PIWM. The packet loss rate of OPS-PIWM versus the number of fiber delay lines, the number of tunable wavelength converters, and the number of inner wavelengths are evaluated by simulation experiments.
