Abstract
The paper presents some laboratory problems relevant to application of coherent light during MSc study (programme Optics and Lasers). The attention is devoted to the coherent properties of laser diode module (LDM), which simultaneously gives an opportunity either to renew or introduce the basic principles of wave optics. A part of the paper, also, is dealing with a mathematical model developed, which can serve as a very illustrative and kind tool to get familiar with optical anisotropy, even if there are no experimental tools at hand. It is based on the interference phenomena of convergent polarized light and also takes into account the external electrical field attached to the crystal.
