Abstract
Recent advances in computer architectures, computational power and memory bandwidth have created new opportunities for visualizing large terrain data sets. Real 3D terrain simulation results from combining two main data set- an aerial or satellite image as terrain texture and Digital Elevation Model (DEM) as terrain. Because these data are huge amount and in different format, it is necessary to do some prior process for terrain simulation. In this paper a data process chain of RSG DEM and remote sensing image for 3D real terrain simulation is proposed. Then a terrain simulation system using this process method is introduced.
