Abstract
The objects in luggage always overlap each other. X-ray can only detected several objects' integrated gray value, but can not obtain a single object's image. This is a prodigious trouble for image transformation. By analyzing the existing algorithm, we designed a method which uses edge detection operator to wipe off the effect of overlapped objects, established the three-dimensional (3-D) edge model and digital model and proposed 3-D Image threshold segmentation approach. This method has been used in some mercantile models of security inspection equipments. Results of application show that the algorithm is feasible.
