Abstract
A 3-stage structure L-band EDFA is introduced to enhance the poor power conversion efficiency by utilizing the wasted ASE from the third EDF section and pump bypass in 1-2 stage. The results indicate that the EDFA could provide low-noise, high-gain and large-flatness ranging from 1570 to 1610 nm.
