Abstract
We investigate the performance of phase-sensitive versus phase-insensitive pre-amplification in optical resolution enhancement with a binary hypothesis test. Phase-sensitive pre-amplification is shown to outperform phaseinsensitive pre-amplification by more than 2 dB.
