Abstract
Owing to the notable advantages over range, resolution and accuracy, satellite-borne high-resolution 3D imaging lidar has found widespread applications in aerospace reconnaissance, deep-space detection, earth observation, disaster evaluation, and so on. Based on the principle of 3D laser imaging, the typical satellite-borne high-resolution 3D active imaging lidar systems are reviewed and the development trend is analyzed. Some conclusions can be drawn that operating mechanism of direct detection would be transferred to coherent detection and diode-pumped solid state laser would be transferred to fiber laser. In addition, advanced synthetic aperture and array detection technology should be adopted for higher range resolution.
