Abstract
Restudied from a new perspective, the maximum-correlation method for range alignment can be reasonably explained as one method based on the maximum mean of a posteriori probability (MMAP) criterion. Using MMAP rule, two new methods are proposed, which are on the basis of the statistical property of range profile (SPRP). By building the scattering bands model, SPRP, the crucial issue in the new methods, is discussed. Simulation results show the effectiveness of the proposed methods.
