Abstract
One of the drawbacks of slit-based dispersive imaging spectrometers is the need for an inertial measurement unit and a photogrammetric software to register the line images. On the contrary, since they perform instantaneous 2D imaging, static Fourier transform imaging spectrometers allow image registration from the images themselves. We propose to merge these two spectral imagers, by cutting the slit in a mirror that reflects the light toward the static Fourier transform spectral imager. Thus, the two spectrometers can be exactly co-registered. We present the preliminary design of such a dual-band hyperspectral imager (visible and near infrared), and an evaluation of the expected geometric and radiometric performances.
