Abstract
Chiral materials possess circular dichroism property that leads to difference in absorption between left and right handed circularly polarized beams. Using these materials in an optical system or measuring their properties causes transmission impairments such as circular dichroism (CD). Using Jones matrix analysis we show the polarization independence in transmission of a chiral element placed in a Sagnac loop interferometer containing a half-wave plate.
